Mid-April through May is strawberry picking season in Charlotte and nothing beats a warm strawberry cobbler made with freshly picked strawberries. Charlotte has multiple different pick-your-own strawberry farms within an hour drive of the city that allow you to wander in the strawberry fields, picking the juiciest strawberries possible. Many of these farms have additional activities such as wagon rides or general stores with fresh baked goods or ice cream.

South Charlotte

Just outside of the hustle and bustle of Ballantyne lies acres of fresh strawberry picking fields at Hall Family Farms. There are also activities for kids such as a musical hayride and a petting zoo.
The Hunter Farm – 13624 Providence Road, Weddington, 704.846.7975
The Hunter Farm does not use pesticides on their strawberries and offer kid-friendly farm activities as well as a community garden.
East Charlotte

Located on the east side of town in Monroe, Piedmont Produce has acres of pick-your-own strawberry fields as well as a general store with fresh fruits, vegetables, and produce.
North Charlotte

Well-known for their fall farm activities, Carrigan Farms also offers many pick-your-own opportunities throughout the year, including fresh strawberries.
Fort Mill Area
