Dilworth was originally created as the first streetcar (trolley) suburb in Charlotte. This neighborhood is mostly comprised of craftsman style bungalows with sprawling front porches and mature oak trees. With its close proximity to uptown Charlotte, Dilworth has recently seen tremendous growth.
For the past 45 years, residents of Dilworth have graciously opened up their homes to the community in the annual Dilworth Home Tour. Purchasing a ticket will get you access to seven of Dilworth’s finest residences: a completely renovated Dutch revival, a Cape Colonial, a Victorian with a contemporary interior, and traditional bungalows. In addition, the historic Brem house, currently home to Sodoma Law, will be open for visitors.
Charlotte B-cycle will be located at Sodoma Law to offer free bike rentals to tour participants. As an added bonus this year, 20% of the proceeds of this year’s tour will go to the Dilworth Soup Kitchen, which serves nutritious lunches to the Charlotte community every Monday.
The 2017 Dilworth Home Tour will be held on Friday, September 16th (6PM – 9PM) and Saturday, September 17th (10AM – 4PM). Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 the day of the event and can be purchased online or at one of the following Dilworth retailers: Paper Skyscraper, Dilworth Drugs, High Cotton Home, Ultra Running Company, and Park Road Books.
