My Favorite Dog Parks Located in Charlotte, NC Area
4635 Pineville-Matthews Rd Charlotte, NC 28226
The Davie Dog Park as it’s commonly called is a dog’s version of heaven. The park boasts an impressive 107 acre area with 5 acres devoted to man’s best friend. I love that this dog park has two divided areas; one devoted to small dogs 20lbs and under while the other for any pooches over 20lbs.
2900 Rocky River Rd Charlotte, NC, US 28205
Many love this park for its unique furry visitors. It’s common to see a variety of different breeds and a mixture of adorable mutts. Although the park is not extremely large, there are plenty of grassy areas for your pups to play.
9400 Belhaven Blvd Charlotte, NC, US 28214
Shuffleton Park is a four acre that conveniently has areas for both large and small dogs. If you can try to make it on Sunday evenings for Yappy Hour.
Fun Things to do with your dog in Charlotte after the dog park
So after you and Fido unleash some wild energy it would only make sense to get cleaned up for a night on the town, right? Check in at the Canine Cafe, a savory spot in the South End devoted just to your pup. Let him try a cheese bon bon or peanut butter cookie fresh out of the oven.
After a well-deserved treat, the Canine Cafe offers a DIY doggy spa. All natural shampoos and cream rinse complete with a dog perfume spritz will have your pup ready to meet his friends.
Yes, there really is a bar in the Queen City devoted to Fido.
The Dog Bar is Charlotte’s original bar catering to not only those of the two legged variety, but four legs as well. Located in the quirky and popular North Davidson street neighborhood, commonly called the Arts District or NoDa, the Dog Bar is a fun time for all involved.
Imagine being able to meet friends for a drink after the dog park, while allowing your pup to share in the fun with his fellow comrades. Are you having a hard time imagining what an actual bar for dogs and humans looks like? The Dog Bar is “similar to a dog park where dogs are off leash in a safe fenced in environment. They run and play in the climate controlled indoors or outdoors on the Astroturf under a completely shaded patio. The patio is cooled with a misting system in the summer and enclosed and heated in the winter.”***
