U.S. National Whitewater Center
The U.S. National Whitewater Center kicks off their Memorial Day celebration on Sunday, May 28th with a trail race and ends the day with a display of dazzling fireworks. Sprinkled in between are some fun competitions and great live music.
Huntersville’s Birkdale Village will host its annual Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 29th at 11:00AM.
Charlotte Motor Speedway
NASCAR fans can spend their Memorial Day celebrating at Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Coca Cola 600. Part of the Monster Energy Series, the Coca Cola 600 will debut a new 4th stage as part of NASCAR’s controversial new racing format. Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, Lynyrd Skynryd, will be performing and Channing Tatum will be the Grand Marshall at this year’s event.
Mint Hill Madness is a three-day festival that celebrates the founding of Mint Hill. This year’s festival occurs over the Memorial Day weekend and features a carnival, arts & crafts show, parade, and fireworks display. Festivities start on Friday, May 26th and continue through Monday, May 29th.
The town of Kannapolis is having a Memorial Day parade at Veteran’s Park on Monday, May 29th at 11:30AM. Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs and American flags to wave.
