Spring is such a beautiful time to live in Charlotte. The azaleas and dogwoods are blooming and the city seems to come alive with activity. Now that the weather is warming up, you may be looking for some outdoor fun! Today, I have rounded up some of my favorite spring activities in Charlotte for you.
Tuck Fest, named for the Tuckaseegee Ford and Trail, is a yearly festival celebrating outdoor active living. Held each year at the U.S. National Whitewater Center, it is a four-day festival full of outdoor competitions, exhibitions, live music and demonstrations.
April 19 – 22, 2018, Tickets: FREE
This annual music festival visits over 13 different southern cities each year and offers live music, beer and bourbon tasting, and some of the best BBQ in Charlotte. This year the festival is located at Southpark Mall and mainly geared towards adults. Bring a chair and blanket and stay awhile to enjoy the music!

Open Streets is an annual event held in cities across the nation that aims to help people get out and explore their neighborhoods and meet their neighbors without traffic. The streets are closed for this event and families are encouraged to walk, ride bicycles, or ride scooters down the streets and take part in activities, games, and demonstrations along the route.

Each year, Stumptown Park in downtown Matthews comes alive with live beach themed music, carnival rides, a craft fair, a car show, and kid’s inflatables all to celebrate the warm summer months ahead.
May 11 – 12, 2018, Tickets: FREE
Just a little outside of Charlotte, in Fort Mill, is the annual festival not to be missed. The South Carolina Strawberry Festival at Walter Elisha Park brings in springtime by celebrating everyone’s favorite fruit – strawberries. This event includes a car show, golf tournament, live music, games, rides, and much more. The weekend celebration is even topped off with a fireworks show.
