Even with the most experienced realtor, the home buying process can be stressful for the first time homebuyer. Thankfully we now have apps at our fingertips that make the journey a lot smoother for both the client and realtor as they navigate the digital landscape of listings.
I always try to keep attuned to new technology that can help my home buyers, especially my millennial first timers who are accustomed to every process in life having “an app for that.” I say if it makes your life easier and allows me to better guide my client I am all for it! Here are my picks for the best apps for future home buyers.
Sunrise- The perfect app for scheduling showings with your realtor
When you are on the home hunt it’s important to be able to quickly schedule a showing with your realtor at a potential listing. Nothing is more disappointing than losing out on an incredible deal because you and your realtor played phone tag over an appointment time. The Sunrise app is essentially a calendar, however you can send various days and times to another recipient that they can in turn accept quickly and efficiently. If both parties have the Sunrise app it will go on to each individual calendar complete with a reminder time as well.
HomeSnap- The app that keeps the communication going
HomeSnap is one of those apps that continually gets better and better with each new update. Imagine having an app where you can “snap” a picture of a home for sale, instantly get interior photos, square footage and more. Then easily send this listing to your agent where you can then message with them instantly regarding the property. I love that all the correspondence is kept in the HomeSnap messaging platform where both the client and agent can easily reference. Have you used HomeSnap before? It’s quickly becoming a new must-have app for home buyers.
HomeAdvisor- The perfect app for both new homeowners and sellers
I love the HomeAdvisor app for two reasons: It’s great for clients preparing to sell their home, and for new home buyers who are looking to do repairs. References are always important, but what about when you need improvements or repairs done on your home asap and the referred contractor is booked? What then? I love HomeAdvisor for the ease of use and the fact that you can easily compare top-rated pros, schedule appointments, and read customer reviews all in one place. Imagine needing a plumber and scheduling the appointment without having to search through google and call multiple companies hoping for an available time. HomeAdvisor should be on every new home owners mobile device.
